President Elect Barack Obama, the strategic planner

I'm watching the 60 Minutes interview. When Steve Kroft asks Barack if he'll look to FDR's plans in order to solve some of the Nation's problems he says:

I don’t want to get caught up in ideology, I want to find something that works…

UPDATE:
This concept of understanding the ideas behind The Deal, but creating policy that would be relevant today inspired the theme of my portfolio and the 'type of planner' I am: rework what's interesting and create something new.
