San Fran vs. New York

Okay so the comparison has begun. Today I continued to play tourist before the serious work begins. I went to the Ferry Building for the farmers' market. Check out these mother strawberries!

I found the vendors actually friendlier here than at the NYC Farmer's markets... And that seems to be a bit universal for all the people here. Except for the homeless here -- they ain't nice or friendly.

A public toilet! I guess the only comparison in NYC would be the toilets in Starbucks, and even then you feel pressure to avoid eye contact with baristas as you make your way to the back. The directions on these toilets here in San Fran dictated a 20 minute limit :)

Fisherman's Wharf felt like the setting of a bad horror film. I'm sure it was beautiful at some point, but it is pretty pathetic now. Not to say that South Street Seaport is any prize....

Taking my own glamour shot on the old-fashioned street car.

They are SO much better at recycling here. And every one seems to take responsibility for it as well -- private business and individuals.
